Bringing digital tools to neuroscience revolution

Unique digital solution helping people with severe mental ilnesses such as bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.

We are a European tele-medical start-up developing a unique digital tool for people with severe mental illnesses, especially bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. Mindpax system is developed in collaboration with specialists in the field of psychiatry, psychology, data analytics and IT solutions. This personalized platform is based on analysis and continual monitoring of objective biomedical data in combination with self-report measurement tools assessing the current state of the user.

Our goal

Our goal is helping patients to manage their severe mental conditions by providing support and oversight of their disease.

Due to a personalized approach, analysis of crucial parameters and well-arranged visualization we are able to provide a useful tool for a user's better self-awareness and thus find a suitable way of

managing their disease. Our system brings together all involved parties and, apart from the primary user, is also interested in his relatives and his attending psychiatrist.

Our mission is to develop a digital tool due to which we ́ll be able to achieve an effective management of severe mental diseases through a continual monitoring of relevant data and their personalised analysis.

Our system brings a better understanding of severe mental states for the patient, his family and his psychiatrist. We also want to focus on prevention in the field of mental diseases and contribute to early intervention.

Circadian Rhythms

Our inner clock

In our body, we have specialized cells, a kind of an inner clock, which can influence our life, physical and mental state in various ways. This inner clock affect our biochemical processes every day depending on if it's day or night, whether we are sleeping or awake. Disruption of these so-called circadian rhythms may indicate difficulties at both the physical and mental level.

Our mental health

Impaired functioning of these biological rhythms may be associated with physical diseases such as obesity, diabetes or sleep problems. Manifestation, causes and a full onset of psychiatric diseases, such as bipolar and psychotic disorders, may also reflect irregularities in these processes. The Mindpax system monitors these deviations in sleep and activity of individuals with mental diseases. By using these data we try to understand the current state of the patient as well as a future potential development of the disease.

How do we measure the circadian rhythms?

Functioning of these biological rhythms is reflected for example by body temperature, hormone levels or heart rate. The easiest, but yet very reliable method is the measurement of physical activity during the day and night.

We are focusing
on 5 crucial parameters:

In different extent, these symptoms may indicate changes in our mental state and the course of the mental illness.

A good and sufficient sleep can be seen as one of the main indicators of a balanced and prosperous lifestyle. Its disruption can be related to a difficult life situation, overload in personal or professional life, but also to a mental disease as bipolar disorder or schizophrenia.

The physical activity may vary within the time of the day, time of the year or within a change in the course of the disease. Thus it may reflect a worsening of the health condition.

Frequence, dosage, certain daytime of using drugs or their withdrawal can have an impact on the psychological and psychical condition in varying extent.

Negative and positive life events, unexpected or even common daily situations can significantly influence our well-being.

Subjective questionnaire

Health condition self-assessment is an essential component in personalized medical approach.

Globally, there are more than

70 million people

suffering from bipolar disorder or schizophrenia.

Individuals with bipolar disorder or schizophrenia experience relapse on average every 2 years.

The average length of hospitalization may increase over time. By a better understanding of what an individual with a mental illness is experiencing, the individual his relatives and his psychiatrist will be able to recognize early warning signs announcing a relapse. Based on literature evidence, early intervention shortens the length of hospitalization and can avoid hospitalization altogether
